1.) Describe the term ‘prototype’ and give reasons why it could be used.

Prototype is the original or model on which something is based or formed. It is used to show something in advance and not to be mass produced at the present time. This can enable testing, some modifications and feedback from people.

2.) Discuss another industry other than the car industry that would use prototypes.Provide at least ONE image of a prototype within that industry.

Toyota use prototypes and an example is a concept car which is below.

Identify the key considerations that a car designer must examine before developing a design plan.

Before even planning on the type of car you are to make you need to consider the audience that you want to sell the car to. You need to research the needs of the kind of targeted buyers. You must also compete with other manufacturers ensuring that your car doesn’t lack anything compared to the other cars. Your car must include lots of research, an aim for the selling price and a budget in producing a car.

You must consider the price of petrol nowadays affecting the height, weight, engine size, etc. You need to also consider the work share between each designer as the work may not fit well.
